In 2005 Chris was juried into the Boulder Open Studios for the
next five years. This event includes a show at the Boulder Public Library and
tours of the artists' studios on the first two weekends of October. A native of Iowa, Chris graduated from Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa, with majors in English and art education. She taught high school for 21 years in both the St. Louis area and in the Clearwater, Florida area. Since retiring from teaching in '99, Chris has been rediscovering her love of drawing and painting. Although a Florida resident since 1986, Chris spends
half the year in Boulder, Colorado, where she loves to hike, bike, and paint. Her artwork frequently depicts Western themes as well as beach and Midwestern scenes. Chris is a member of
